Maharashtra Government is soon going to make it compulsory to have solar power and water harvesting facilities for Green buildings. To serve the purpose, the property tax will automatically come down. Now people can use this money in solar installations for water heating, rainwater harvesting, water recycling and high-grade construction material. And the people who will choose for green buildings will be provided with handsome incentives in the form of lower property tax. Tax benefit is not the only advantage. Optimal utilization of natural resources is itself a great reward.
